Antique dated 1874 bronze statue by Philadelphia
artist Albert Ernest Harnish (1843-?). The statue is of the character
Fagan from the Dickens novel "Oliver Twist." Harnish studied under
Joseph A. Bailly at the Philadelphia Academy of Fine Arts, and is most
noted for his equestrian statue of Robert E. Lee erected in Richmond, VA
and the Calhoun monument in Charleston, SC.
